Update: New Builds released (latest: 455)
Edit (June 29): Just to mention that the latest build available is 455. Our apologies for the release of successive builds due to urgently needed hotfixes. The latest build is always updated at the Downloads Page and should automatically replace older builds if you have 'auto-updates' on.
The number of downloads from alkasir.com has risen abruptly in the last couple of weeks indicating that many have been able to download and use alkasir and we're glad that many of them took the time to send us feedback about performance issues and bugs.
In the latest build 1.2.0454, we employed a patch to fix to an earlier build (453 released today), which was developed based on those comments and fixed several bugs including:
1) Fixed an issue with links in the internal browser as there were links that did not go any where.
2) Made the loading process in the background (when the icon is multicolored) so you could cancel it by right-clicking on it
3) Fixed a synchronization issue between the client and the server concerning the updates for some URLs
4) Made the scan process more robust to ensure that the database remains up-to-date
5) Fixed several editing problems with selecting text, etc.
6) Added an ability to have alkasir users check the status of URLs that are reported by an alkasir user in the same country
Plus a few other minor fixes in the code.
This does not mean that alkasir is perfect as there are still many more bugs to discover and fix. Therefore, please do send us your feedback and questions to help make the program more robust.
