Getting Started

When you launch alkasir for the first time, you will see the following prompt:

This is an important step because alkasir has a predefined set of proxies to use for each country. Alkasir can easily identify the country of the user without this prompt, but this will require it to connect to the Internet (to retrieve the IP and hence geo-location information of the user). But there is always an assumption that alksir.com could be blocked so the retrieval of the IP will not be possible unless done through a third party, which is an unreliable method. Therefore, it is best to identify the country in advance.

The interface language options available in this version are limited to English and Arabic, but plans are in place to include more languages in the future. This selection will not only reflect on the program but also on the language seen on alkasir.com, which is also has a multilingual interface.

Upon clicking 'OK' button, you will then be asked to configure your browser settings with this prompt:

If you select 'Yes', your open browsers will be closed and you will get a prompt indicating that the settings have been changed:

If you already have your own proxy settings, it is advisable to select the manual procedure so as to avoid loss of earlier settings. In such a case, clicking 'Manual' would provide you with a very clear set of instructions as shown:

It is important to understand that without configuring the browser proxy settings properly, alkasir will not work and that would be evident when you diagnose your settings.

Once you configure your browsers successfully, you will be ready to use alkasir in its fullest potential as described in the next sections of this help document.
